2027 ArtHop Logo Contest

The Fresno Arts Council (FAC) is seeking a local artist to create next year’s Official ArtHop logo! One (1) winning design will receive a $600 cash prize, and will be used for all official ArtHop promotional materials for 2027! This contest is free to enter and Fresno County-based artists of all ages are invited to apply!

2027 FAC Gallery Open Call

Fresno Arts Council is seeking two-dimensional visual artists and art collectives to exhibit their artwork in the FAC Gallery for one of the following months in 2027: January, February, April, June, July, September, October, November. Selected artists will host an ArtHop reception at the FAC Gallery on the first Thursday of their exhibiting month.

  • Applicants must have 15-20 pieces to be considered.

  • Artwork must be backed with metal wire in order to be displayed.

  • There is no height or weight limit for artwork in the gallery. Large works are preferred.

  • Stay tuned for our FAC Group Show Open Call! Artists will be invited to submit up to three pieces for consideration in a collaborative exhibition at the FAC Gallery.

2027 Fresno City Hall Gallery Open Call

Fresno Arts Council, in partnership with Fresno City Hall, is now accepting submissions from artists, art groups and art organizations to exhibit two-dimensional visual artwork in 2027 for one month at one of two floors in Fresno City Hall. Selected artists will host an ArtHop reception at Fresno City Hall on the first Thursday of their exhibiting month.

  • Applicants must have 15-20 pieces to be considered.

  • Artwork must be backed with metal wire in order to be displayed.

  • Artwork cannot contain nudity or political commentary.

  • Artwork cannot be taller than 34”, wider than 54”, and cannot weigh over 30 lbs.

Volunteers Needed for Alliance for California Traditional Art’s Great Valley Gathering

Alliance for California Traditional Arts (ACTA) is seeking friendly, dependable, community-minded people who are excited to support the arts and cultural traditions of the Central Valley for their Great Valley Gathering event. Roles include welcoming guests, supporting festival activities, assisting artists, helping with set-up and break-down, and keeping the festival flowing. Every volunteer will receive one food voucher for each 5-hour shift completed, plus a Great Valley Gathering T-shirt!

Bilingual English/Spanish speakers are especially encouraged to get involved!

The Great Valley Gathering is a free, three-day public event celebrating the living traditions, music, dance, storytelling, craft, and foodways that shape California’s Central Valley.

Pre-festival volunteer times:

  • September 30 and October 1, 9 AM - 5 PM

Festival volunteer times:

2026-2027 Fresno County Youth Poet Laureate

The Fresno County Superintendent of Schools, in partnership with Urban Word, seeking bold, brilliant student voices in grades 9–11 who are eager to speak truth through poetry and are passionate about affecting change in their community. Whether they write in a notebook, tap it out on a device, or freestyle with friends — their words matter.

Application requirements:

  • You must be enrolled in a public school within Fresno County (students from charter schools, alternative schools, and comprehensive high schools are welcome to apply).

  • You must accurately complete the form below.

  • You must submit a signed Parent/Guardian Release & Waiver of Liability.

  • You must submit the following items which will be your portfolio:

    • 5 original poems (any length) – one poem must align to this year's theme: "Shadows of Yesterday & the Light of Tomorrow" – Poems must be submitted as a single document.

    • An updated CV/resume (curriculum vitae) highlighting the poet's accomplishments, accolades, and public service. This CV/resume is an opportunity to share everything you have done, so put it all in there. Feel free to BRAG about yourself and your accomplishments.

    • Applicants are welcome to use this CV/resume template or any of their choosing

    • A high-quality headshot (any image that shows the poet only and that they will feel good seeing on the program – it does NOT need to be a professional headshot)

You can support the arts in Fresno by becoming an official ArtHop venue this year.

Annual Venue Fee

All registered ArtHop™ venues will receive:

    Promotion and listing in all official ArtHop™ marketing, including the printed brochure

(1) vinyl decal featuring the winner of the ArtHop™ 2026 Logo Design Contest

  Annual ArtHop™ membership fee is $180.00 for the period of ArtHop™-related art programming occurring between January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026.

ArtHop™ participation requires a physical location to exhibit artwork,

Brochures will include a complete directory of all participating ArtHop™ venues and will be printed in December 2025 for distribution as early as January 2026.
