The final two performances of the NY production of “Janka” will run at Good Company Players’ 2nd Space Theatre in Fresno’s Tower District on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 8th & 9th. Doors open at 7pm, curtain at 7:30pm. These two performances are to honor Janka’s story and thank the citizens of the Central Valley for their enormous support. A champagne reception will follow each performance. “Janka” has toured the world since 2002.
“Janka” is the true story of Janka Festinger, of Sighet, Romania; how she survived Auschwitz and slave labor, how she immigrated to America to begin a new life, and how near the end of her life she finally tells her story. The role of “Janka” is performed by Janice Noga, Janka’s daughter-in-law. It is written by Oscar Speace, Janka’s son, and directed by James Phillip Gates.
Proceeds will support GCP’s Junior Company and the Fresno Cultural Arts Rotary Club’s Polio Plus campaign.
“Janka” is a production of The Janka Project under the auspices of the Fresno Arts Council.
